Short description
Jack Hammond is sentenced to life in prison, but manages to escape. To get away from the police he takes a girl as hostage and drives off in her car. The girl happens to be the only daughter of one of the richest men in the state. In a while the car chase is being broadcast live on every TV-channel.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film was mistakenly shown at the Dublin Film Festival as part of a retrospective, where they were supposed to be screening the film of the same name by Arthur Penn (1922-2010) starring Marlon Brando (1924-2004).
  • After the credits, viewers are treated to a surprise scene where Charlie Sheen, dressed as a clown, parodies the famous “napalm in the morning” speech by Lieutenant Colonel Bill Kilgore from the film *Apocalypse Now* (1979), accompanied by helicopter sounds and music by Richard Wagner.
