Most of the costumes, provided for the film by the famous British fashion house 'Angels & Bermans,' replicated costumes that 'Angels & Bermans' had created 45 years earlier for another screen adaptation of the Shakespearean play, the 1944 film directed by Laurence Olivier.
Sir Kenneth Branagh recounted in one interview that, while carrying 'the body' of Christian Bale, he suddenly experienced severe back pain. He nevertheless continued to carry the body, and the genuine, not feigned, pain was reflected on his face.
