Short description
Damien Thorn has helped rescue the world from a recession, appearing to be a benign corporate benefactor. When he then becomes U.S. Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Damien fulfills a terrifying biblical prophecy. He also faces his own potential demise as an astronomical event brings about the second coming of Christ.

What's left behind the scenes

  • As director Graham Baker commented, during the filming of scene 666 (the number of the beast, in the form of a birthmark on Damien Thorn's head), in which Barbara saw her deceased child, the camera suddenly jammed.
  • The scene of the first priest's death took approximately two weeks to film.
  • The scene where Damien Thorne addresses his followers was filmed in a quarry in Yorkshire. Approximately 450 extras participated in the filming. The lighting level in the quarry was very low.
  • The finale was filmed in one of the 13th-century monasteries in Yorkshire over 5 nights. It was incredibly cold on set, and bats were flying around.
  • Hazel Court (1926-2008) was cast in a cameo role at the request of producer Harvey Bernhard (1924-2014), as she was vacationing in Cornwall at the time of filming.
  • The 30-meter bridge fall was performed by stuntman Vic Armstrong, who later stated that it was the scariest stunt of his career, as he had previously only fallen from heights of 21 meters or less.
