Short description
Heiress Joanna Stayton hires carpenter Dean Proffitt to build a closet on her yacht—and refuses to pay him for the project when it's done. But after Joanna accidentally falls overboard and loses her memory, Dean sees an opportunity to get even.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The Point Evans cutter, on which Dean travels with his sons to find "Mom," was an active U.S. Coast Guard vessel at the time of filming. It was commissioned in 1967 and decommissioned from the Coast Guard in 1999, then transferred to the Philippines.
  • Due to the yacht's soothing rocking on the waves, members of the film crew and actors periodically fell asleep during filming.
  • Annie accidentally cuts off the scarecrow's head with a chainsaw. A piece of fabric in the shape of a five-pointed star is located under the scarecrow's right eye. This is a reference to the makeup on Alex's right eye, the protagonist of the dystopian film "A Clockwork Orange."
  • During filming, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell’s children were constantly present nearby.
