According to the director and screenwriter, David Moreau, Olivia Bonamy, who played the main character in the film, suffered from claustrophobia, and during the filming of some scenes (for example, in the narrow tunnels), genuine horror was reflected on her face.
For filming, they found a huge, old estate in Bucharest, the capital of Romania. The house was so spacious that the filmmakers were unable to fully furnish all the rooms for filming, and it had enough space for the entire film crew to live in.
