What's left behind the scenes

  • In the scene where Jackie drives up to the hotel to meet Bo, we see the entrance to The Peninsula Hotel, located on Salisbury Road in the Tsim Sha Tsui district of Hong Kong.
  • Hong Kong version: 121 minutes. American version: 96 minutes.
  • Initially, the film was conceived as a love story, and Jackie Chan was supposed to be its producer, not one of the actors. However, the script had to be rewritten to get actress Shu Qi involved in the project, and a role for Chan was added to the new script. Soon it became the leading role, and action scenes were added to the script.
  • Director Vincent Kok wanted to film the apartment of the character played by Jackie Chan directly in the actor's own office, but this idea did not materialize. However, many items from Chan's office were used in the filming, including his training dummy. According to the actor himself, his character was 'sixty to seventy percent' Jackie Chan in everything related to clothing, training, a healthy lifestyle, kindness, and a commitment to environmental conservation.
