What's left behind the scenes

  • The cars that played the main roles in the film are a Chevrolet Corvette, a Cadillac CTS sport wagon, a Pontiac Solstice, a Lincoln Continental, and a custom buggy. They belong to the film’s author, Dax Shepard. Furthermore, since the film was shot without studio control and had a very modest budget, Dax and many other actors performed their own car stunts.
  • The film's budget was approximately $2 million. Of that, $1 million went to copyright holders for the songs used in the film.
  • Bradley Cooper wears Oakley Plaintiff sunglasses throughout the film.
  • At the beginning of the film, Randy is driving to meet Charlie. While en route, he talks to Charlie on the phone, holding his iPhone upside down, with the lock button and headphone jack near his mouth.
  • In reality, removing the engine is more difficult than simply cutting its mounts, as Charlie describes when talking to Annie.
  • When Charlie is hit with a golf club, he falls into an open doorway. In the next shot, the door is closed.
  • In the scene where Charlie is driving with Annie and notices Gil following them, Gil is sometimes wearing a seatbelt and sometimes not.
  • During a scene where Clint Perkins hits Dmitry's friend in the face, it is noticeable that his fist passes within an inch of his nose.
