The last work by director Claude Miller. He passed away in Paris from cancer on April 4, 2012.
The film was shot in 21 days in August and September 2011 in the Landes (a department in southwestern France) and in Bordeaux (a city and commune).
An adaptation of the novel of the same name (1927) by François Mauriac (1885-1970).
