- The film is based on the graphic novel “Le Transperceneige” by Jacques Lob.
- The film was entirely shot at the Barrandov Studios in Prague.
- This is the first English-language film by Korean director Bong Joon-ho.
- 500 meters of train set were built for the film.
- All the burning torches in the film are real.
- Mason was originally conceived as a male character, but the gender was changed after Tilda Swinton was cast in the role.
