What's left behind the scenes
- According to James McAvoy, the actor who played the main character, he deliberately refrained from watching the original before filming, only watching it after filming was completed.
- The film was shot mostly in Gloucester, England. For a week, filming took place in Croatia.
- In July 2023, filming was interrupted due to the writers' and actors' strike, when only 5 days of shooting remained. Filming resumed in November 2023.
- Dan Haf's character writes to the character played by Alix West Lefler in Danish, and the engraving on his father's watch is also in Danish, meaning the boy's family is from Denmark. This is a reference to the original film.
