• Catherine Hicks, who played Karen in the first "Child's Play" film (Tom Holland, 1988), did not participate in the work on the sequel. However, she was always on set with her husband, Kevin Yagher, who operated the Chucky animatronic doll.
• Chris Sarandon was supposed to return to the screen as Detective Mike Norris, but for financial reasons, all scenes with him were cut from the final version of the film.
• All of Chucky's lines, spoken in the voice of Brad Dourif, were pre-recorded to synchronize the doll's lip movements with the words. This is why Dourif was an infrequent visitor to the set. His lines were simply played for Alex Vincent, who played Andy.
• The doll Tommy was named after the director of the first film, Tom Holland.
• Kristine Elise's cinematic debut.
• In early script drafts, Phil and Joanna were named George and Mildred, respectively.
