Short description
A young, ambitious New York City matchmaker finds herself torn between the perfect match and her imperfect ex.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The poster in front of the theater showing John's play (played by Chris Evans) lists Celine Song as the director, screenwriter, and producer of the film. The play is 'Tom and Eliza,' which she wrote in 2016.
  • Lucy and Harry's (played by Dakota Johnson and Pedro Pascal, respectively) accommodation was filmed on location, while John's apartment, played by Chris Evans, was simply a set built in a studio. When furnishing the neglected apartment found for filming, which was to depict Lucy and Harry's home, director, screenwriter, and producer Celine Song instructed that it be made to resemble the apartment her husband, Justin Kuritzkes, once lived in, and even provided photographs of that apartment.
  • Ten years before filming began on this film, Celine Song worked at a matchmaking agency for about six months, and it was during that period that she first thought about making such a film.
  • The film was shot during the peak of wedding season, which somewhat limited the filmmakers in terms of locations suitable and available for filming. Because of this, the wedding scene had to be filmed in four different locations.
  • According to the production designer, Amy Beth Silver, the table at which Lucy is doing her makeup once belonged to the American artist and illustrator Norman Rockwell (1894-1978).
  • On the poster in front of the theater showing John’s (Chris Evans) play, the name Celine Song is listed – the director, screenwriter, and producer of the film. This is her play “Tom and Eliza,” which she wrote in 2016.
