During the filming of the fight scene, Jackie was accidentally cut by a sharp sword that was supposed to have a blunt blade. Blood flowed, and Jackie screamed in pain. The director, thinking that this was how it should be, continued filming. We see real blood in the film.
Hwang Jang-Lee powerfully knocked out Jackie Chan's tooth. In the final scene, you can clearly see the gap from the missing tooth.
