Short description
Cast and crew from earlier A Nightmare on Elm Street installments are terrorized by Freddy Krueger and his razor-fingered glove as he crosses over into the real world.

What's left behind the scenes

  • All the scenes with the earthquake were filmed one month before the 1994 Los Angeles earthquake.
  • The design of Freddy’s new glove was based on a drawn glove that appeared on the theatrical poster and video cassette covers of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984).
  • Wes Craven’s daughter, Jessica Craven, played the nurse.
  • Heather Langenkamp is asked if she has a pass, to which she replies – “To hell with the pass!”. This episode was borrowed from "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984).
  • Lin Shaye, who played the nurse, also played the role of a teacher in "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984).
  • The clothes worn by Heather Langenkamp and John Saxon towards the end of the film are the same clothes they wear in "A Nightmare on Elm Street" (1984).
  • Before filming this movie, Wes Craven rewatched all parts of "A Nightmare on Elm Street" and, according to him, was unable to find a common storyline.
  • Initially, Wes Craven planned to invite Johnny Depp for a small role in the film: Johnny was supposed to appear as himself in the funeral scene. However, Wes never mustered the courage to ask him about it. After the film's premiere, Craven asked Johnny, who replied that he would have accepted the offer without any problems and happily played the cameo role.
  • A photograph of Heather Langenkamp, which stood on John Saxon's table in the first installment of the franchise, can be noticed in Wes Craven's house.
  • The script included a scene where Robert Englund falls asleep and enters a nightmare where he gets stuck in a web, and a giant spider with the face of the new Freddy crawls towards him. However, the scene was never filmed because it clashed with the overall tone of the film.
  • Andy Mangels' book, “The Nightmare Never Ends,” can be seen on Bob Shea's table.
