During filming, work on the movie was kept secret. The owner of the airfield didn't even know about Vincent Lindon's presence on set (he played Guillaume). It was only a month after filming that Léa Seydoux (who played Florence) let slip that she had spent two weeks filming with Quentin Dupieux, and that's how everyone found out about the new movie.
The entire film was shot in the Dordogne department in southeastern France. Filming took less than three weeks in December 2023. The airfield building was used as the restaurant, and the runway was disguised to resemble an abandoned highway.
