Short description

The Police Academy misfits travel to Miami Beach for Commandant Lassard to be honored with a prestigious lifetime award pending his retirement. Things take a turn when Lassard unknowingly ends up in possession of stolen diamonds from a jewel heist.

What's left behind the scenes

Steve Guttenberg declined an offer to play the lead role in this film and stated that he would not participate in any subsequent films in the franchise (which eventually appeared). He also refused all following offers. Two decades later, he admitted in an interview that he regretted this decision. Moreover, he was among those who actively advocated for the filming of a new film in the franchise.
