There are many explicit quotes and references from "Bride of Frankenstein" (1935), "Halloween" (1978), and "Friday the 13th" (1980). For example, at the beginning of the film, we see a Michael Myers mask, a Freddy Krueger glove, and a Jason Voorhees goalie mask.
