• Initially, director, writer, and producer Scott Derrickson did not plan to shoot a sequel, but screenwriter Joe Hill came up with the idea that Grabber would call Finn from the underworld (Grabber and Finn are played by Ethan Hawke and Mason Thames respectively), and Derrickson became interested in it.
• In one scene, Finn, played by Mason Thames, watches a music video for the song “Subways of Your Mind” by FEX. This track was long referred to as "the most mysterious song on the internet" because no one knew the artist’s name/identity. The authorship was determined only after many years of searching at the end of 2024.
• Grabber’s mask consisted of two interchangeable parts – upper and lower, which allowed its expression to be changed. For example, Grabber smiles when causing someone pain, and frowns when he realizes someone is beyond his control.
• Grabber’s face is only glimpsed once in a photograph. In the first film from 2021, Finn tore off Grabber’s mask and then killed him.
