What's left behind the scenes

  • Filming took place at Orly Airport, on the roof of the Hilton hotel in Paris, and at the National Museum of Arts and Traditions.
  • Christine's dress (Mireille Darc's), was created by couturier Guy Laroche and is currently housed in the Louvre.
  • Colonel Toulouse lives with his mother, which is a nod to Commissioner San-Antonio.
  • A number of scenes were cut from the Soviet distribution. All these scenes consist of dialogues that, in the opinion of the censors, were frivolous in nature. In particular, the following were shortened: the discussion of Blondin's file by Milan, the recording by Milan's people of Perrin and Polette's date, and the scene at Christine's house.
  • Colonel Milan repeatedly exclaims irritably, "Scoundrel!", which is a reference to a number of other films where actor Bernard Blier utters the same word.
  • An alternative ending was initially planned. After Pousse's murder, Perrach, who betrayed his boss, saves Milan. Indirectly acknowledging his homosexuality, he decides to run away with Milan. The tall blond, meanwhile, dies from a gunshot at the airport. However, considering the possibility of a sequel, the decision was made to kill Colonel Milan, in order to preserve the plot around the Tall Blond.
  • Colonel Milan repeatedly exclaims "Scoundrel!" with irritation, which is a reference to a number of other films where actor Bernard Blier utters the same word.
