The money shown in the film is Estonian (100-kroner banknotes). Most of the scenes were filmed in Paldiski, but many also in Tallinn, specifically in the Kopli and Lasnamäe districts.
Dangule Rasalaite (Lithuanian: Danguolė Rasalaitė) (May 19, 1983, Telšiai, Lithuanian SSR, USSR – January 10, 2000, Malmö, Sweden) was a 16-year-old Lithuanian girl who was forced into sexual slavery in Sweden against her will and, unable to cope, committed suicide by jumping from a bridge. Her case received wide coverage in the Swedish press in the early 2000s. The film 'Lilja 4-ever' was based on Rasalaite’s story.
