• Filming began on the ice of Lake Baikal at -40°C and concluded in China at +40°C.
• Filming inside the Trans-Siberian Express took place in a pavilion in specially constructed full-scale train cars. To create the effect of movement, the cars were mounted on a special platform that simulated shaking. For individual episodes, a setup was created to simulate the train's movement within the pavilion.
• For the pavilion filming in Moscow, the largest screen with virtual sets in Europe was built, and to simulate the surrounding environment, a controllable artificial sky was constructed in the pavilion, created from 70 lighting fixtures.
• Part of the filming took place at one of the largest film studios in the world, Hengdian World Studios. There, the film was shot on sets recreating the central district of Shanghai in the early 20th century.
• A separate region was selected for each location in the film. Manchuria was filmed in the Pskov region and on the Russian-Finnish border. Train stations and interior locations for Belgorsk were filmed in St. Petersburg.
• It is the first Russian film in HFR format with a frame rate of 60 frames per second.
• Interior shots within the Trans-Siberian Express were filmed in a pavilion using specially built full-scale carriages. To create the effect of movement, the carriages were placed on a special platform that simulated shaking. A setup was also created to move the “train” within the pavilion for certain scenes.
