Short description
When rancher and single mother of two Maggie Gilkeson sees her teenage daughter, Lily, kidnapped by Apache rebels, she reluctantly accepts the help of her estranged father, Samuel, in tracking down the kidnappers. Along the way, the two must learn to reconcile the past and work together if they are going to have any hope of getting Lily back before she is taken over the border and forced to become a prostitute.
What's left behind the scenes
- Val Kilmer, who owns a ranch near the filming location and lives there periodically, agreed to a small role in the film as part of his participation in a New Mexico state film development investment program.
- To ensure the authenticity of their characters, Tommy Lee Jones and Eric Schweig spent many hours learning several phrases in the Apache language, which is now almost extinct. Their efforts were highly appreciated by the few remaining native speakers of the language and culture.
- Filming of the picture took place from February 10 to June 2003 in the state of New Mexico, USA.
