- According to director John Hyams, the fight between John (Scott Adkins) and Luke Deveraux (Jean-Claude Van Damme) was more acrobatic, but the scene had to be redesigned when Adkins tore a ligament in his knee before filming.

- Besides Van Damme and Lundgren, the only actors from the previous installment were Andrei Orlovsky and Christopher Van Varenberg.
- There are no scenes in this film where Jean-Claude Van Damme and Dolph Lundgren appear together.
