Short description
In Oklahoma, Agnes, a lonely waitress living in an isolated and dilapidated roadside motel, meets Peter, a quiet and mysterious man with whom she establishes a peculiar relationship.
What's left behind the scenes
- Filming period: July 11 – August 19, 2005.
- The screenplay for the film was written by Tracy Letts – based on his own play, which became a Broadway hit. Michael Shannon was the only actor from the original cast who was given the opportunity to reprise his role in the film.
- Jodie Foster was offered the role of Agnes.
- The interior sets for the motel room were built in the gymnasium of a high school in Metairie, Louisiana.
- Filming in Louisiana was completed just a week before Hurricane Katrina struck the state.
