Carl Weathers was supposed to play the same role as in the first film (Dennis Dugan, 1996), but the actor passed away in 2024, forcing the authors to significantly change the plot of the 2025 film.
Happy's sons are named after famous hockey players – Gordie Howe (1928-2016), Wayne Gretzky, Bobby Orr, and Terry O'Reilly.
