The first American film by Italian director Franco Amurri, who was an assistant to Federico Fellini during the filming of 'City of Women'.
Dennis Hopper's character says, 'It's not enough to go to a video store and rent 'Easy Rider' to become a rebel.' Hopper played the main role in this film and was its director.
At the Oakland train station, Dennis Hopper (1936-2010) befriended two boys of Asian descent, who are also shown in the film – they wave to Hopper's character. During pre-production, he made time to play with the boys, so their reaction to him on screen is genuine and not acted.
