- The film is dedicated to the memory of Amy, a woman whose image served as the basis for the film *Before Sunrise* (1995). Richard Linklater spent a night walking and talking with her in Philadelphia, but they eventually lost contact. Between the films *Before Sunset* (2004) and *Before Midnight* (2013), he finally learned that Amy had died many years ago in a car accident, and he dedicated the film to her.
