Short description
Three college students, Phil, Ed, and Henry take a road trip into Mexico for a week of drinking and carefree fun only to have Phil find himself a captive of a group of satanic Mexican drug smugglers who kill tourists and whom are looking for a group of new ones to prepare for a sacrifice.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The song La Frontera was written by Andrés Levin, Kukú Diamantes, and Beto Cuévas, and also performed by Kukú Diamantes and Beto Cuévas. Cuévas, in turn, played the role of the main villain Santillán in the film.
  • The film is based on real events that took place in Mexico City in 1989. A group of 'narcosatanists' was discovered, who killed at least 20 people and used their body parts in ritual sacrifices. Members of the cult were responsible for the kidnapping and murder of Mark Kilroy, a Texas medical student who disappeared in March 1989 during spring break in Mexico City.
  • In the film, a former police officer who lost his partner to the cult says that the sacrifices made by the cult cause their drug smuggling vehicles to become invisible to law enforcement. In real life, the arrest that led to the discovery of the cult that kidnapped and killed Mark Kilroy occurred after a drug courier and cult member was arrested while smuggling drugs across the border in broad daylight. The suspect believed he was invisible due to the human sacrifices made by the cult.
  • In the film, Henry offers the guys mushrooms, which Ed initially refuses. When Valeria asks the reason for his refusal, Henry says: "He's afraid he'll jump off a building or go Leatherface on somebody." (This is translated in the Russian dub as "he's afraid he'll jump off the roof or kill someone"). Thus, the reference to "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre" was lost in the Russian dub.
