What's left behind the scenes

  • Initially, the script included some scenes with nudity, but during the casting process, director David Schmoeller felt awkward mentioning it in the presence of Tanya Roberts (1949-2021) and other actresses, so he remained silent. When it came time to film the bathing scene, Schmoeller finally gathered his courage and asked the actresses if they would object to "nudity." They conferred and replied that it would be better to do without it.
  • The original title of the film translates as “Tourist Trap”.
  • Director David Schmoeller was frankly surprised when the film received a “PG” rating (parental guidance suggested), despite its content and scenes of violence, which he himself considered excessive. He believed the film would have been more popular with audiences if it had been rated “R” (under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian).
