What's left behind the scenes

  • The title references the film "Django" (1966) by Italian director Sergio Corbucci, a spaghetti western.
  • "Sukiyaki" is a traditional Japanese dish consisting of beef and vegetables cooked in a metal pot over low heat.
  • In almost all spaghetti westerns, Colt "Peacemaker" revolvers have a trigger guard and grip made of copper, due to Italian manufacturers like Davide Pedersoli. This is incorrect, as since 1873 and to this day, all revolvers of this model are produced with iron trigger guards and grips. "Sukiyaki Western…" deliberately repeats this error: all "Peacemakers" in the film, including the wanderer's revolvers, have these copper details.
  • The cross with the name "Mercedes Zaro" is taken from Sergio Corbucci's "Django" (1966).
