- While gathering material for the future film, director Marc Forster once sat in a genuine electric chair.
- In the execution scene of Lawrence Musgrove, they filmed a decommissioned electric chair in the very same room of the Louisiana prison where it had previously been used.
- In the film «Lemmy» (Greg Olliver and Wes Orshoski, 2010), in a conversation with Motorhead vocalist, Billy Bob Thornton claims that he was paid half a million dollars for his role in the film, and when the film's box office success became apparent, he received a check for another $2 million.
- The role played by Sean 'P. Diddy' Combs was initially offered to Jeffrey Wright and Don Cheadle.
