What's left behind the scenes

  • The film's production was delayed for several months when Dwayne Johnson suffered a serious Achilles tendon injury during football practice.
  • Before the film's release, Dwayne Johnson stated that this would be the last time he would be credited as “The Rock”.
  • According to the original script, the main character was supposed to play for the real-life National Football League team, the New England Patriots, but negotiations with them proved too difficult for the producers. This idea had to be abandoned, and the film featured a completely fictional football team.
  • According to Dwayne Johnson, making his character a big fan of Elvis Presley was his idea, which received full support from the screenwriters. The actor himself is a big fan of Elvis Presley’s work, as is director Andy Fickman.
  • Copies of the film were delivered to cinemas under the false title “Ribbon”.
  • Dwayne Johnson's character in the film suffers a shoulder injury that sidelines him from the game. Many years ago, the future actor and wrestler himself sustained the same injury during his freshman year of college, forcing him to miss the rest of the season.
