Short description
A mysterious stranger rolls into town on a unique motorcycle. All he carries is the bible and a desire for justice. Past vengeance collides as Ryder rights an injustice from his past and liberates the small town from a malicious oppressor.

What's left behind the scenes

  • “The Missionary” is a modern remake of Clint Eastwood’s “Pale Rider” (1985).
  • Lundgren did not use a stunt double during filming. The money saved went into production.
  • Originally, the plan was to film a classic Western, but due to budget constraints, the action had to be moved to the present day (it turned out that providing fuel for motorcycles was cheaper than food for horses, not to mention building the necessary sets).
  • According to Lundgren, he was inspired by classic Westerns, particularly Sergio Leone’s legendary trilogy about “The Man with No Name” and the cult film “Billy Jack”.
  • Although “The Missionary” was released straight to DVD, it premiered in theaters in Dallas. The film was also shown in theaters in San Diego, California.
