Short description

A friendship is formed between an ex-gangster, and two groups of hitmen - those who want to protect him and those who were sent to kill him.

What's left behind the scenes

The hotel to which the film's characters repeatedly return was, in reality, just a roofless set built on the building of the "Milkyway Image" film production company, which director Johnny To founded in Hong Kong in 1996. Hotel scenes were filmed at night with natural lighting.
Actress Josie Ho worked without a script. Director Johnny To wanted the actors to come to the set not knowing in advance which scenes they would be filming and to improvise.
