• In 2010, Pixar sold the license to produce the Tin Toy to MINDStyle, which released the Tiny toy within the "Art Toy Collectible" series, in a limited edition of 500 pieces at a cost of $90. The box, which is an exact replica of the box from the cartoon, also contained a copy of the storyboard from one of the cartoon’s scenes.
• In the early 1990s, Pixar and Disney began negotiations to create the first full-length computer-animated film. The project gained momentum, however, Pixar decided to first create a special half-hour film to ensure they could manage the production of a full-length feature. The continuation of "Tin Toy" was to be called "Tin Toy: Christmas." According to the plot, Tiny was part of a set of toys that had been unable to be sold for many years. Separately from the other toys in his set, Tiny mistakenly ended up in a toy store, where he met other characters, including a plush pink bear named Lotso. The project was abandoned because the television network that was supposed to produce the cartoon could not afford the necessary budget (according to director Pete Docter, it would have required an amount 18 times the allowed budget). Disney was interested in the project and agreed with Pixar to create a film that later achieved commercial success. The character of Lotso, however, was adapted into the film "Toy Story 3" (2010).

• A short clip from "Tin Toy" can be seen in the film "Toy Story 2" (1999) when Rex flips through channels to find an advertisement for the Chicken Little character.
• Some of the toys that were hiding under the couch appeared in the film "Toy Story 3" (2010).
