What's left behind the scenes

  • Throughout the entire film, none of the main characters mention the name of the ship – “Titanic.” The name is only spoken once, by a newspaper boy after the disaster. The word “Titanic” can be seen on billboards, on a lifebuoy just before the disaster, and on board the ship itself.
  • Practically all the scenes in "Titanic" were borrowed from William Hale's television film "Save the Titanic" (1979).
