Short description
In New York, people are slain and strangled to death brutally on the open street. All witnesses agree that the murderer was in a cop's uniform. Soon the police search and find a suspect in its own ranks: Jack Forrest, suspected of murdering his own wife and the rest of the unfortunate individuals to die by the Maniac Cop’s reign of terror. To prove his innocence, he investigates the case with his partner, Theresa Mallory.
What's left behind the scenes
- Barry Brenner, the director William Lustig's doctor, played the forensic pathologist.
- Robert Z'Dar, who played the serial killer police officer, once served in the Chicago Police Department.
- Before filming began, a parade celebrating Saint Patrick's Day (March 17th) was filmed separately with three cameras. Sam Raimi also appeared in several scenes. These shots were shown to investors to ensure they would provide the necessary funding for filming.
