Short description
In the midst of a searing Florida heat wave, a woman convinces her lover, a small-town lawyer, to murder her rich husband.
What's left behind the scenes
- William Hurt (1950-2022) and Kathleen Turner wanted to feel free and uninhibited during the filming of the love scenes, so they gathered the entire film crew to personally introduce themselves to everyone, with both the actor and actress completely naked during the introductions.
- The character played by Kathleen Turner was based on actress Lauren Bacall (1924-2014), a star of film noir. Turner was cast in the role because of her resemblance to Bacall, including her husky voice and long, beautiful legs.
- Lawrence Kasdan didn't even realize for many years that George Lucas, with whom he worked as a screenwriter on "Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back" (1980) and "Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark" (1981), had personally guaranteed to Alan Ladd Jr. (1937-2022), head of The Ladd Company, that he would cover all expenses if Kasdan exceeded the budget.
