Short description
Mild-mannered Paul Blart has always had huge dreams of becoming a State Trooper. Until then, he patrols the local mall as a security guard. With his closely cropped moustache, personal transporter and gung-ho attitude, only Blart seems to take his job seriously. All that changes when a team of thugs raids the mall and takes hostages. Untrained, unarmed and a super-size target, Blart has to become a real cop to save the day.
What's left behind the scenes
- Filming began in late February 2008 in Boston and its surroundings. The main filming location was the Burlington Mall supermarket, located in the town of Burlington near Boston. From late February to mid-April, the supermarket was decorated with Christmas decorations, and some other changes were made compared to its usual appearance.
- The film crew considered the Willowbrook Mall supermarket in New Jersey as a suitable filming location, but its owners were not at all enthusiastic about the idea and refused.
- By the time the film was released, The Sharper Image corporation, in whose store the events unfold, had already declared bankruptcy, completely lost all its assets, and had no retail outlets.
