The film is set in Costa Rica, but the shooting took place mostly in Puerto Rico.
The light transport aircraft, a Shorts Skyvan (tail number N106SW) taking off at the end of the film, is the same one as in Rob Meltzer's comedy "Welcome to the Jungle" (2012). It belonged to the budget American company MN Airlines until the end of 2014.
In one episode of the film, Joel Thomas Zimmerman, a Canadian DJ and music producer better known as Deadmau5, appeared as himself.
