Short description
The origins, exploits and the ultimate fate of the James gang is told in a sympathetic portrayal of the bank robbers made up of brothers who begin their legendary bank raids because of revenge.
What's left behind the scenes
- Originally, the Ford brothers were to be played by actor brothers Jeff Bridges and Beau Bridges.
- Edward Bunker, who was, incidentally, a real bank robber, played one of the bank robbers in a scene.
- To make this film, David Carradine relinquished his usual share of box office revenue, and brothers James and Stacey Keach waived their executive producer fees in favor of David and Keith Carradine. When the film's cost exceeded the approved budget of $7.5 million, the Keach brothers forfeited their executive producer salaries.
