• Anna Prucnal was a character who emerged directly during filming. The ship's captain was originally intended to be Miss Canada herself, but Carole Lor, who had previously appeared in several explicit scenes, refused to participate in some subsequent sexual scenes and halted filming. A new character, played by Anna Prucnal, was introduced into the film, dividing the plot into two parts.
• For her participation in the film, actress Anna Prucnal was accused of anti-Sovietism and was denied permission to enter her native Poland for 7 years after the film's release, including to attend her mother's funeral.
