What's left behind the scenes

  • The beautiful pair of legs appearing in one of the scenes of Presley and Judy Tyler's meeting belong to actress and model Gloria Paul.
  • During the filming of "Jailhouse Rock", Elvis inhaled a porcelain crown-cap. Ironically, in this film he played a rock and roll singer who temporarily loses his voice.
  • In 2004, the Library of Congress added the film to the National Film Registry as a film of "cultural, historical, or aesthetic significance".
  • Actress Judy Tyler, who played one of the leading roles, died in a car accident just a few weeks after filming ended. Presley was so shaken by Judy’s death that he refused to ever watch the finished film.
