The first Indian film to shoot some scenes at a NASA research center. For greater authenticity, director and producer Ashutosh Gowariker filmed the corresponding scenes on Launch Complex 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida, USA.
Shah Rukh Khan's character works on creating a satellite for the Global Precipitation Measurement (GPM) system, which is launched into orbit by a space shuttle. NASA launched this program in 2014.
Shah Rukh Khan was so immersed in the film that the thought of it ending was unbearable for him, and he didn't even watch the edited film, pretending that work on it was still ongoing.
