AnnaSophia Robb auditioned for the role of Rosemary.
Little Rosemary, running around with Gabe in his apartment and smearing paint on the walls, was played by Franny Flacket-Levine, the daughter of director Mark Levine and screenwriter Jennifer Flacket.
Director Mark Levine's mother-in-law appears in the film as one of the guests at the wedding. She can be seen as an elderly woman walking past Rosemary's parents after Rosemary and Gabe go to the dance floor.
The film marked Charlie Ray's acting debut. Her aunt saw an advertisement in the newspaper for an open casting call for the role of Rosemary and took her niece to her first auditions ever.
