- Director and screenwriter Tony Gilroy gave the main character the surname Stanwyck in honor of the famous actress of classic cinema, Barbara Stanwyck.
- Filming took place from March 9 to May 27, 2008, in New York, London (Trafalgar Square), and Rome. The casino scenes were filmed at the world-famous Atlantis resort, located on Paradise Island in the Bahamas.
