Short description
Two fishing scout pilots make a horrifying discovery when they encounter a second Godzilla alongside a new monster named Anguirus. Without the weapon that killed the original, authorities attempt to lure Godzilla away from the mainland. But Anguirus soon arrives and the two monsters make their way towards Osaka as Japan braces for tragedy.

- This is the first film in which Godzilla is not the only monster character.
- The film sold over 8,340,000 tickets and, before the premiere of "King Kong vs. Godzilla" (1962), was the most popular Godzilla film.
- Parallel to the Japanese version (as with most "kaiju" films), the film had an American version with some changes. The film is the second in the Godzilla series, which now consists of 29 films.
- In America, the film was released under the title "Gigantis the Fire Monster".
- This is the second film about Godzilla and the first about Anguirus, as well as the last Godzilla film shot in black and white.
