What's left behind the scenes
- The film is based on Simon Maginn's novel "Sheep." In the novel, the young couple had a son, but in the film, it was decided to replace him with a daughter.
- Filming of the movie began on July 15, 2003, in Vancouver and ended in mid-September of the same year. Originally, filming was scheduled to begin in May 2003.
- The working title of the movie was "Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare".
