The film crew had to work six days a week.
Frankie Muniz performed many of the stunts in the film without a stunt double, as they are not as strictly monitored in London.
Harald Zwart, the director of the first film, left the sequel project due to disagreements with the studio executives regarding the budget. He insisted on using more computer-generated special effects, which would have significantly increased the costs, while the studio was unwilling to take that step.
The film's script was written during filming.
Filming took place during the summer hiatus of the series "Malcolm in the Middle," which had occupied a large portion of Frankie Muniz's acting career for several years.
As preparation for his role in the film, Frankie Muniz underwent two months of martial arts training.
