The cartoon is based on Alan Snow’s book “Where the Wild Things Are”.
55 varieties of prop cheese, meticulously copied from real cheese wheels, were used to decorate the film's sets.
The dolls' faces were assembled from parts printed on 3D printers, giving animators quick access to an incredible number of facial expressions. The main character, for example, had 1.4 million potential facial expressions.
When Egg first meets his father, their dialogue almost verbatim repeats the conversation from the cartoon “The Lion King” (1994) between Simba and Rafiki.
